Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring a healthy and safe environment for the hospital staff, patients, volunteers, physicians and visitors which includes ensuring protection of hospital possessions and property; performing routine checks of systems and equipment and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate of a Community College Law and Security Program, or a graduate of a recognized police training facility or equivalent.
  • Current certification with Private Investigator’s and Security Act (Bill 159 legislation).
  • Three years of previous experience in dealing with the general public in a law and/or security role – preferred.
  • Current use of force and/or non-violent crisis intervention training an asset.

  • Excellent customer service along with maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and public relations skills
  • Displays and participates in team concept.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills in a stressful work environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and willingness to be flexible to meet department needs.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Hours of Work:   Available for all shifts including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays
