Regular Part Time - CLEANER

Job Summary:

Responsible and accountable for the entire housecleaning of patient areas, departmental housecleaning, floor care, assigned project work, window cleaning, changing and maintaining curtains, laundering patient restraints, room set-ups and relocation of furniture and equipment.   Supports waste management programs to include recycling, garbage (interior and exterior) and compost programs.  Maintains good working relationship with hospital staff, patients, families of patients and visitors.  Employee role models technical and organizational core competencies

 

Requirements:

  • Experience cleaning in a healthcare environment would be an asset (more than 2 years’ experience)

  • Experience cleaning in an industrial environment would be an asset

  • Proficient in institutional floor maintenance procedures, equipment (floor cleaners and power sweepers) and chemicals would be an asset

  • Excellent Customer Service

  • Displays and participates in Team concept

  • Knowledgeable of universal body substance precautions

  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal and Organizational Skills

  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage stressful work environments

  • Demonstrates the ability to follow written and oral instructions

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and dedication to team concept

  • Regular attendance is a requirement of this position

  • Demonstrates effective time management skills through multitasking and prioritization of tasks

  • Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 pounds)

     

    Able to work shift work including days, nights and weekends
