Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is partnering with Addiction Services of York Region (ASYR) to provide a Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic for quick access to quality care. This is a drop-in clinic for people looking for help with their problematic substance use such as alcohol, opioids, cocaine and/ or cannabis.
The clinic team has experience treating individuals struggling with substance use. They will:
·         Assess your situation in order to determine how to help you
·         Provide treatment recommendations
·         Refer you to community services such as counselling programs as needed
·         Discuss all options, including the use of safe, effective and non-addictive medication that will help to lessen cravings, as well as withdrawal symptoms
If you’re feeling anxious or hesitant about going to a RAAM clinic, consider bringing a supportive person with you. Changing your substance use can be very difficult, and having someone with you while you speak to the team may make you feel less overwhelmed and less alone.
