[New Tecumseth, ON – March 16, 2018] Mrs. Carrie Jeffreys, VP Patient Services & Chief Nursing Executive at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, will be recognized on Sunday, June 3, 2018 as the 2018 Robert Zed Young Health Leader Award recipient for her work benefiting the health and wellbeing of Ontarians.

The award recognizes young Canadian healthcare leaders with outstanding potential, who have demonstrated leadership in improving the effectiveness and sustainability of Canada’s health system. The award is sponsored by Aramark Healthcare and will be presented at the Canadian College of Health Leaders’ Honouring Health Leadership event in St. Johns, NL.

It is an honour and privilege to be named the 2018 recipient of the Robert Zed Young Health Leaders Award,” says Mrs. Jeffreys. “I want to thank the Canadian College of Health Leaders, Aramark Healthcare and Jody Levac, the President and CEO at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, for empowering me to drive forward innovation in healthcare and inspiring effective leadership and positive change.”

In July 2016, Mrs. Jeffreys joined Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH), after a successful six-year career at the Southwest Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). She acted in that capacity as senior hospital liaison, helping drive hospital system improvement for all hospitals.

Mrs. Jeffrey’s arrival has helped maintain the hospital’s status as one of the fastest emergency departments of 74 medium and high-volume hospitals in province of Ontario. She has helped improve revenue, patient satisfaction, and continues to help drive a culture of courageous leadership. She is well respected as a Chief Nursing Executive in the Central LHIN, within one year of her arrival, helping SMH pave new ground in external relationships.

Mrs. Jeffreys brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic change leadership and nursing to Stevenson,” says Jody Levac, President and CEO, Stevenson Memorial Hospital. “We are thrilled to congratulate her on this prestigious award and are inspired by her positive attitude, courageous leadership and proven ability to foster change.”
