Stevenson Memorial Hospital is embarking on a partnership with Markham Stouffville Hospital and Southlake Regional Health Centre to implement a new health information system.
The first of its kind in Ontario, the partnership is referred to as SHINE (Shared Health Information Network Exchange) and will allow Stevenson to use a sophisticated electronic records system that would otherwise be unattainable at a fraction of the cost.
By taking a shared system approach, SHINE technology will provide medical professionals with seamless access to patient information at all three sites, improving patient safety and supporting faster diagnosis and treatment.
