Dialysis

Stevenson Memorial operates a 6-station Dialysis Unit which is a satellite of the Regional Dialysis Program at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

The program is staffed by experienced Haemodialysis Nurses, Registered Dietitian, Social work and supported by visiting Nephrologists from the Orillia program.  Patients who receive their Dialysis at Stevenson live in the local and surrounding communities, allowing them to receive their treatments closer to home.  Stevenson Memorial’s dialysis unit works closely with the Regional Program to ensure the patients receiving treatments here are monitored closely and stable enough to receive care in a satellite unit.

The Dialysis program works with the transplant team at University Health Network and St Michaels Hospital in Toronto to support some of our patients through the transplant process.  Stevenson Memorial through the Out Patient Clinics operates a Chronic Kidney Care Clinic to support predialysis patients with their medical care and to prevent or delay progression to dialysis of the patients with chronic renal failure.   Over the years our Dialysis Unit has been generously supported by the Community and Nottawasaga Foundation.
