Prenatal Clinic

The Prenatal Clinic at Stevenson Memorial Hospital is designed for pregnant women who need prenatal care from the time they get pregnant until they are referred to an obstetrician or midwife later in the pregnancy.

The clinic is for expectant mothers who do not have a family physician in the area, or whose family doctors do not provide prenatal care.

The clinic can link you to a number of healthcare professionals and support services, including:

  • Dietitian
  • Social worker
  • Lactation consultant for breastfeeding assessment
  • Prenatal Education
  • Public Health Services
  • Prenatal Tours - Every Thursday - Please call 2235 for appointment

A physician's referral is not required to be seen in the Prenatal Clinic. Pregnant women can call the clinic at 705-435-3377, extension 2346.

The Prenatal Clinic at Stevenson operates out of the Well Womens Ambulatory Clinic, located on Level 2. the location of the clinic gives women the opportunity to become familiar with Stevenson Memorial Hospital and its staff in the months leading up to their delivery.

If the clinic is closed and you require medical attention for symptoms pertaining to your pregnancy, proceed with the following:

  • If you are less than 20 weeks pregnant, go to a walk-in-clinic or the Hospital's Emergency Department.
  • If you are more than 20 weeks pregnant, proceed directly to the Birthing Unit.
