[New Tecumseth, ON – September 6, 2022] In collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU), a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s (SMH) Medical/Surgical Unit. The Overflow Unit at SMH still remains in outbreak status.

All COVID-19 positive patients are isolated and have been placed on the Overflow Unit, creating a positive zone. The Medical/Surgical Unit is a COVID-19 negative zone and is able to accept patient admissions at this time.

All close contacts have been notified and enhanced cleaning has been implemented along with additional infection prevention and control measures, including additional COVID-19 testing.  Both the Overflow and Medical/Surgical inpatient units are closed to visitors unless a designated/essential care partner has been determined as required or a patient is palliative.

Please call the Patient Experience Department if you have any questions or concerns: (705) 435-3377 ext. 2310.
