Stevenson Memorial Welcomes New CNO

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is happy to make the official announcement that Mrs. Carrie Jeffreys will be its new CNO and Vice President of Clinical and Paramedical Patient Services, after a comprehensive recruitment process. Mrs. Jeffreys is currently beginning the process of relocating with her family to the New Tecumseth area and will start at Stevenson Memorial on July 4th 2016; her office will be located on the 3rd floor of the Mary McGill building.

“I’m very pleased to be able to welcome Mrs. Jeffreys to our hospital staff. Stevenson Memorial is dedicated to recruiting quality, highly-skilled staff in our mission to deliver the best quality of care for our patients,” says Jody Levac, President and CEO. “Thank you to all of the members of the selection committee for their diligence and hard work during the rigorous recruitment and selection process. Ultimately, I’d like to thank both our Board and our Patient-Family Advisory Council for their support and guidance during the comprehensive recruitment process, as they both bring a vital insight and voice as strong patient advocates.”

Mrs. Jeffreys brings more than ten years of experience in Strategic Leadership and Nursing. She has Bachelor degrees in Nursing (BScN) and in Health Sciences (BHSc), and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). She has also received her certificate from the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CHE) and has strong experience with working in hospitals and the healthcare system. She departs the South West Local Health Integration Network (SWLHIN) to join us here at SMH, and previously worked at Ernst and Young as well as at the Department of Health in Western Australia. Her early clinical career was as a Registered Nurse in Obstetrics at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

“I want to extend my personal thanks to Kathy Stevenson, who has acted as our interim CNO,” says Jody Levac. “Her efforts ensured that Stevenson Memorial patient services continued to be delivered at the highest level of quality, as well as a smooth transition for the incoming Mrs. Jeffreys.”

Mrs. Jeffreys’ arrival is just another exciting step on Stevenson Memorials’ Patient- and Family-Centered Care journey. Stevenson Memorial will continue its efforts to improve and enhance patient care while providing support and resources for patients and their family members.
