Respiratory Therapy Diploma from an accredited program.
NRP an asset
Pulmonary function testing experience
Minimum of five (5) years recent and relevant experience.
Ability to assess, evaluate and communicate appropriate Respiratory Therapy Care Plans
Ability to conduct respiratory tests and treatments
Ability to keep accurate records and patient charts
Ability to assess patient response to care and to respond appropriately
Experience with critical care and emergency situations.
Demonstrated willingness to continually upgrade skills and be active in the continual development of Respiratory Services.
Knowledge of anaesthesia equipment an asset
Knowledge of indications, contra-indications and hazards of therapy
Knowledge of respiratory mechanics and medical gas delivery devices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work with patients independently and identify urgent medical indicators within the scope of practice and have the ability to alert the physician of urgent patient conditions that could affect treatment or further testing.
Computer skills, knowledge Meditech; Microsoft Office, PACs
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment using excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with patients, staff and physicians
Demonstrates an understanding of ethical behaviours and confidentiality requirement in a health care institution.
Ability to represent the Hospital with professionalism and compassion for patients and families
As a single incumbent position must be able to maintain good attendance and punctuality
