Regulart part Time - DIETARY AIDE

Summary:

This position provides assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals.  This includes individual preparation, assembly and serving of meals to patients, staff and other patrons as directed.

 

Requirements:

  • A Grade 12 education is required.

  • Food Handler Training Certificate is required.

  • Completion or enrollment in Food Service Worker certificate program. Must be completed within 2 years

  • Experience with food handling in institutional kitchens required

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs is required

  • Experience with food handling in long term care facility is an asset

  • Experience with retail food preparation is an asset

  • Experience with handling cash is an asset

  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions is an asset

  • Able to follow oral and written instructions and work independently

  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim food products

  • Understand principles of stock rotations (FIFO)

  • Excellent Customer Service

  • Displays and participates in Team Concept

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and Organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage stressful work environments

  • Ability to ensure quality

     

    Must be willing to work all shifts (including weekends) as required.
