Temporary Full time Corporate Communications Specialist

You will utilize your talent for community engagement to develop a communication strategy, and marketing plan to help drive the redevelopment process for Stevenson Memorial Hospital and Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
In this shared position with Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) and SMH Foundation (SMHF), you will report both the SMH CEO and SMHF Executive Director. Your time will be split 80% with the Hospital and 20% with the Foundation, this dynamic individual will ensure that all internal and external stakeholders of Stevenson Memorial Hospital understand the brand, mission, and vision of the hospital. You will work with the Senior Management Team, hospital staff and Foundation to create a strategic branding program that will guide all of the Hospital’s future communications through clear and integrated messaging.
University degree, college diploma or certificate in Marketing, or Public Relations
5+ years’ experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably in a healthcare or not-for-profit environment
Proven track record to develop new and emerging marketing strategies to attract and retain new patients – particularly expectant mothers – and employees
Exceptional media relations skills (i.e., writing media advisories and releases, taking photographs for journalistic purposes, planning press conferences, building strong relationships with local media)
Ability to write and edit content for a variety of mediums (i.e., web, intranet, social media, newsletters, advertisements, promotional flyers, informational brochures, invitations, video story boards)
Ability to plan, execute and evaluate the success of a variety of community engagement activities and special events.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including a demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups, including front line staff, members of the management and senior teams, physicians and volunteers.
Work independently, with members of the administrative team and/or external customers to plan, execute and evaluate the success of a variety of community engagement activities (i.e., Town Halls, speaker series, focus groups) and special events (e.g., VIP visits, staff celebration events).
Create and distribute invitations, detailed itineraries and speaking notes as required.
Post-event, conduct necessary reviews to ensure specific goals and objectives and desired outcomes were met (e.g., surveys, evaluations, etc.)
Support the Foundation and the Auxiliary to facilitate opportunities for Stevenson to participate in community events, such as Home Shows and health expos that will strengthen Stevenson’s position as a great place to work and receive healthcare services.
Oversee the development of Foundation Communication materials including the Annual Report, Donor Investment Reports, Direct Mail Solicitations, Donor Thank You letters, Website Updates, Proposals, Editorials, and Mat Releases, and Press Releases.
Act as a liaison between the Hospital and the Foundation to arrange speakers, panelists, and board representation at community and donor events.
