Clinical Coordinator - Temporary Full Time - Emergency Department

RE:  TEMPORARY FULL TIME Coordinator

          Emergency Department        

          For approximately 12 months                           

Requirements:

  • RN Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

  • C.N.A. Emergency Certification preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years recent and relevant experience
  • Leadership Certificate or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in adult education, mentoring, leadership and coaching

 

Responsibilities

 

  • All inter-professional personnel assigned to the clinical area report directly to the Clinical Coordinator with respect to patient care and staff issues.

  • He/She develops and facilitates internal programs.

  • He/She provides a framework to support and advance professional practice.

  • He/She leads the team in implementing evidence-based practices within the patient centred care philosophy.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • He/she role models professional and organizational core competencies.

  • Provides support, orientation and skills development for staff within the department.

  • Responsible for the provision of competency based clinical education and professional development for staff.

  • Actively participates with the program team in implementing evidence-based practices to achieve program objectives, in particular, assist in the development of clinical pathways or protocols that incorporate evidence-based practice.

  • Role models clinical excellence and all core competencies.

  • Advances professional practice and the practice of other inter-professional team members as appropriate through leadership, learning and development, integration of research, education and practice, critical thinking inquiry and analysis.

  • Provides clinical supervision and coaching/mentoring to staff.

  • Takes responsibility for the safety and well being of patients; including current knowledge of hospital codes, falls prevention, wound care and incident reporting.
