Temporary Regular Part Time Patient Access Clerk ( for approx. 4 - 6 months)

The Patient Access clerk is a member of the Patient Access team. Using guiding principles and scheduling protocols the Patient Access clerk will schedule admit or register patients across the organization in a timely and efficient manner, keeping in mind the principle of patient focused care.  The Patient Access clerk will be the first contact for patients and will provide customer services including the role of cashier and switchboard operator for internal and external customers.

 

Requirements:

  • Office Administration Diploma
  • Medical Terminology Certification
  • Previous experience working in an adminstrative environment
  • Previous hospital experience an asset
  • Clerical skills with typing and keyboarding skills (minimum 50 wpm).
  • Proven ability to cope with emergency situations
  • Demonstrate excellence in communication, customer service focus, teamwork/collaboration, analysis/problem assessment, individual leadership and safety awareness.
  • Superior interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven proficiency in registration system software and excel.

 

The successful applicant must be able to work all shifts (includes weekends and holidays).
